The Dickens House.

Jenny and Lila ran to the edge of the cliff as they had done many times before. They looked for the path they had run down almost everyday since they were wee lasses. Jenny ran down first, her white cotton dress floating in the wind and her waist-length blond hair flowing like a cape behind her. Lila ran soon after, know perfectly where every foothold was. Her hair flowed like a waterfall down into her face as the white ribbon slowly slid out of place. The wheat lined the sides of the path, carefully hidding them out of view of the people of Dorrit. The path soon ended in front of the Dickens' house. Ma Dickens was sitting on the front porch mending and young Flora and Noddy lay on the grass weaving flower necklaces. Ma looked up. "And where would you two be off to today?" She had know what the reply would be before they said it.

"Somewhere," Jenny replied, choking back the giggles while grinning ear to ear.

"Yeah, just somewhere," Lila could barely get out the words between the laughter. Ma just looked at them.

"I reckon you two are off to go see the boys. Now, you know I won't tell your folks, but I want to know so I can make sure you two are okay." Ma looked sternly at them. Lila was the first to crack.

"Yes ma'am. We wanted to see Will and Edmund. Can we play in your field once we find them?"

"You know you can. If only Dorrit and Copperfield could see eye to eye, we'd all be much better off." Lila and Jenny beamed knowing that soon the boys would be with them, dancing and playing like never before.

Jenny once again grabbed Lila's hand and the two were off, chasing down the path to Copperfield. Ma warned them to be careful, but the girls didn't listen.

Coming soon... The town of Copperfield.

Jenny's plan.
The sun was just rising in the little town of Dorrit. (This was a strange town. It had all the technology of the rest of the world, but chose to ignore it. Instead it lived more in the early 1900s rather than the late 1990s.) The people of Dorrit were just awakening to the warm rays of the sun on this wonderfully June day. Lila was no different. She rolled gracefully from her bed and ran quickly to the mirror hanging on the wall. Her little pup Oliver ran to be beside her. "It's the first day of the rest of my life, Ollie. How shall I choose to spend it?" Oliver looked carefully at her before choosing to yip in glee.
"I think you're right. Let's go ask Jenny." So Lila quickly dressed in her peach sundress, put on her apron, tidied her short black hair into a ribbon, and ran out the door to Jenny's. Lila's bare feet hit the pavement as she ran to Jenny's house just a few blocks away. She waved good morning to the neighbors as the left to go to work. When Lila arrived Jenny was sitting on the front porch.
"Why so glum?" Lila asked as she gasped for breath. Jenny just shrugged.
"I wish I could see Will." Jenny replied in a monotone voice.
""I wish I could go see Edmund." Lila replied with a sad look on her face. But with those words Jenny perked right up.
"Let's run away!" Jenny replied in delight. Lila frowned.
"What do you mean run away? What will our parents think?" Lila frantically questioned.
"I mean let's run off and go see them in Copperfield." They'll just think we're out playing in the fields again and not worry until tomorrow." Jenny was enthused with her plan. Lila didn't seem to like it.
"But what will we wear? People in Copperfield won't like it if we come dressed like this." Lila frowned even more as she looked down at her peach dress and dirty bare feet.
"Who cares? We won't be there long. I just need to see Nathan. We can find him and bring him back to the valley. Then everything will be alright. No one goes in the valley besides the Dickens'. And the Dickens' have been working for years to get the towns to combine. So they will be happy to see us together with Copperfeldians." Jenny was absolutely beaming by now. She looked eagerly at Lila. When Lila smiled, Jenny knew she had won. Jenny grabbed Lila's hand and the two of them ran off down the road to the cliff that overlooked the valley between the two towns.

Late Night/ Early Morning Blues...

Do you ever have one of those night, where no matter how hard you try, you just can't get to sleep?
That would be me right now.
At home sits a nice new computer which I haven't gotten the chance to fully explore. And here I sit, on Grammy's crappy, slower-than-a-stampede-of-turtles-through-peanut-butter DELL. I hate dells. I am a geek. I love new technology but never seem to have it. so when I do get it, I like to spend about.. two or three days just playing with settings, exploring new software and putting all my music and pictures on it. But here i sit. on a dell. at 1 o'something in the morning. thinking of that new shiny hp at home.
I've tried everything to get to sleep. counting sheep, well actually that's about it. i made it to 11 before i started thinking of how awesome it would be to have a screensaver of sheep jumping over a fence (this may sound lame to some, but I think it's spiffy.)
so here i sit, blogging rather than sleeping. i'd count sheep but that just isn't cutting it tonight...

night world... i think...

The Road of LanniLand

the road less traveled...
it's never the worst idea... but it's not usually the best either. i may pave my own way, but is it really the road for me? what if there is another road that is already paved and ready for some good times and some bad? what if that is where i should be? as i walk through the little town of LanniLand, i look at the road...

never perfect, some stones in the wrong place, but it is already there...

it's not the roads you see in "family circus" that magically appear behind the children to show you where they've been. but the road does give you some sense of where you are headed...
i have never been one who can live in complete disorder. i need at least a small sense of where i'm headed. but the problem is, in the grand scheme of things...
i'm lost...

feelin' foxy

so on the last day of school, my friends and i had a discussion on what it meant to be "feelin' foxy." i defined it as feeling flirty and in a mood for anything. some of my friends decided that was a little strong. i thought it worked but apparently not.
so i modified it to be feeling good about yourself. "Georgina" feels good about itself. but is that really "feelin' foxy?" mind you this is not much of a blog post, but still. how is "foxy" defined and is just kinda a feelin?

Welcome to LanniLand

Some things in life you try to tell yourself they didn't happen. Other times, you can't deny what has happened, is happening, or will happen. This is one of those things I can't tell if it is something I'm denying, is going to happen, or I have dreamed. I just remember walking for miles on a road. It was long and winding. I remember seeing a huge sign next to the road. It was written in bold print and said "Welcome to LanniLand. population: 200 personalities" I didn't understand at first. 200 personalities. What could it mean? Were there 200 people or just a couple or what? I continued to walk down the road. The houses where all very different. There was a castle, a manson, and a little log cabin. Everything was different from each other, but yet it all seemed to have a general theme. Everything seemed to be geared for a young girl around 6. Yet it had subtle hints that it was for someone around 21. It was as if the town didn't know its purpose...
